Its not quite the picture I conjure up when thinking about new running shoes, but if it works only good will come out of it.

Oh blimey. Very fetching! Sorry you're having to go though this.. But as you say, if it helps repair you then it's worth it... But don't try running in it... Ok?!!? Lol. Sincerely hope your recovery is speedy. ((( hugs)))

Hi OG

That'll never catch on!!! It looks like an instrument of torture! Do you wear that in bed?

I don't know, the things we do to get right. I hope it works for you OG and you'll soon be up and running.

Do you feel any better at all yet?

In answer to questions about when I wear this contraption, only in bed. Its designed to keep the foot flexed so that during the night which is the time for healing as there is no weight load on the damaged area, the Plantar Facia (sole of foot to most people) as most repeat damage is done first thing when you get out of bed your foot having been relaxed all night, you put all your weight on it and the result is you pull and tear all the overnight repair. The pain from this is excruciating, it starts deep in the heel and runs up the Achilles and reaches the calf muscle on a bad day. Splints like these are used for light weight support after the casts is removed from broken bones although they would be walking ones, this is not. Its light weight, fully adjustable and actually quite comfortable once you get used to wearing it. This morning after taking it off was the first time in several months that I have not suffered heel pain. This support plus acupuncture plus stretch exercises is my last attempt of a cure, if this doesn't work then the running will have to stop I'm afraid.

Shoe mileage

Do you include your warm up/cool down walks in your shoe mileage, or just the running bits?
