W8R2 done - can't believe the end is in sight.

Like some others here, I haven't posted much (2nd), but I've read loads and feel great support and encouragement from everything I read. And I am STILL amazed to be here in this position.

Up to now I've been concentrating on the minutes - doing the required minutes for each run - and have used Laura to help me along.

I'm now beginning to get interested in speed and distance. I've been doing a slow jog, but don't really have much of a clue of the distance I've done. A brief look at a map makes me think that by the time I've done 30 minutes, I'll be running something like 4-5k.

There seems to be lots of apps for smart phones, so will download one of these - but would appreciate some advice one which one.

Thanks in advance for your time :)

My super-fit spouse uses Trax on his smartphone which he swears by but which didn't work this afternoon. I tend to go onto goodrunguide.co.uk and mark up my route once I'm home and showered.

It IS amazing to go from worrying about the horrible jump up from 3 mins running to 5mins, to being able to run for 25 or 30 mins. I still can't quite get over the fact that I am now a 'lycra lovely' in my nifty little capris.

It's mad isn't it, thinking that just a few short weeks ago, increasing a run to 3 minutes was a huge thing - and what an achievement that was - and that achievement has led on and on, and here we are.

I've lost a bit of weight and am more toned and generally feel fitter, so that's all good.

Thanks for the tips.

I use runkeeper which is a free app - seems to work okay for me. Glad the programme is going so well! Not many more runs to graduation now.

I map my runs on goodrunguide too, which is free and you don't need to register. You can if you wish though

It's nice to know where you've been and how far etc. I have a Garmin now but still use the GRG as well
