On a high!

It seems that poaching my son's personal trainer and all the swimming and hillwork are beginning to pay off! I entered my third Park Run yesterday and the time I was given was two whole minutes faster than my previous personal best. THEN, to make matters even better they discovered that there was a problem with the timing devices and all the tail-enders ahd been given a time 2 minutes slower than their real time. Which meant that the time Strava had recorded for me of 36.25 was correct and I had actually shaved FOUR minutes off my previous PB. I know I posted recently that I was going to stop focusing on time and just enjoy my running, but beating myself gives me such a buzz I may have to eat my words. Suddenly next months 10K, which i have pledged to complete in under 90 minutes, actually seems do-able! :-)

Well done turnturtle, that's great. It must feel really good to have knocked those minutes off, makes all the hard work worthwhile. That 10k is very do-able, I did my first today, no time posted yet, I will post about it when it comes through later but my aim was for under 90 minutes too- we shall see! x

Sounds like a great run TT! I'm sure you'll manage that 10k next month with ease.

Which 10K are you in TT? Those times look very good - that training is paying off big time!

Thank you aussiegtc. I'm doing the Leeds 10K. I think I'll enjoy it as some people will be walking so I won't stand out as the tail-ender which . I am much more confident I can do it now. My age graded score yesterday was 57.32 which is quite respectable. I'm not out for a silly time but if I can maintain that age-graded score I should be able to finish in about 80 minutes. Let's compare notes!
