Hi guys, joined the forum today and it seems a lovely friendly place! I've been really enjoying the C25K and completed week 4 run 2 this morning. I was a bit scared of week 4 but after getting through the first two runs I'm actually looking forward to getting to week 5!

I'm using the iPhone app and can honestly say that I don't think I'd be running without it! I did walk quite a lot pre-C25K and use a Fitbit to keep me on track in general.

I never thought I'd enjoy running (still can't quite believe I'm typing that!) as I was always someone who would avoid running like the plague (cross country at school was my worst nightmare!). I've been on a weight loss journey over the last few months (4 stone in the last 6 months of last year and another stone this year) and I felt that I wanted to focus on a fitness goal rather than just more weight loss and thought that working up to a 5K would be a good challenge!

Anyway, that's a bit about me! Can't wait to get to know you all!

wow, what amazing weight loss, well done you! :) i lost 2 stone in 2012 and have mostly91lb over at mo! but it has been a bit up and down )kept it off, but have found the c25k programme has definitely toned me up a lot! good luck with week 5, once you get that 20 mins under your belt you'll feel so proud and impressed with yourself! make sure you post so we can see how you're getting on! :)

Thanks for the welcome! I'm half inclined to sign myself up for a Race for Life as a real incentive (there's one nearby on the 22nd June) but think I need to see how I get on with that 20min run before I commit!

Well done on your fantastic weight loss and getting to Week 4 - just the one more run this week and then on to the W5. You will find that people in this community are very encouraging and supportive - they will help get you through to graduation. Good luck with the third run of week 4 and best wishes.

Welcome!

I too lost a lot of weight before starting the programme. It has helped me to maintain my new weight since. As for the 20 minute run, my advice would be to believe in yourself and the programme and go into it mentally ready to succeed. If you've completed the programme up to that point, you will be able to do it.

Good luck!

Hey Karlotta and welcome! :-) Wow, that's some seriously impressive weight loss: well done! :-) and we'll done on getting through W4R2; it's good you're looking forward to week five! I commence week five on Monday so I'll be sure to let you know how it goes!

Sign-up for R4L! I've not even started W5 yet and I'm signed-up for a 5k fun run and two 10ks.... It's good, in my own opinion, to have a goal and something definite to work toward and the 22nd June is a good distance away in which to be ready for it. Go for it! :-)

Welcome aboard and congratulations on your achievements. Wishing you continued success.

Hi to you both. R4L has three sections - Runners, joggers and walkers. You could sign up for the 5K and do walk/jog intervals if that would make you feel a bit more confident. Cheers.

Hello *waving*

It's great isn't how soon our bodies adjust to this new exercise. I also hated running at school. I remember doing 1500m at school sports and everyone was lapping me!

I'm starting w7 tomorrow. No more walking intervals, which you might also find better as I was finding it harder to get going again with the break. Whereas constant running you can keep a slow and steady pace that suits. Good luck & have fun 👍
