Just wanted to say thanks for all your replies to my questions about Park Run. It's made me wanna do one, so my plan is to lose my Park Run cherry on the first saturday in May. I will post after the deed is done.
A tout!

Excellent, pleased to hear it-I will look forward to reading about your cherry losing experience shortly
Well and truly looking forward to the post for this one. Good luck and best wishes.
Go dan ! Enjoy
This sounds like such a plan. Perhaps all us park run scaredy cats should make it a date.
Ditto! Doing my first park run in 3rd May and am looking forward to it.
I am glad you asked. Read the responses and now i am pre-prepared and pre-researched for when the time comes!
Glad you're going to be a big brave Dan, lose your cherry & join us Parkrunners I'm sure you will love it!
I did my first at Hornchurch a few weeks after graduating, I didn't want to go along alone so persuaded my son to visit for the weekend to come with me & he was meant to run with me for encouragement; 30 seconds in when he was running backwards & still way faster than me I told him to *~*%@# run off, he set off on his own & I plodded on at my own pace...very slow! I fell over on a muddy incline but wiped myself down, bit my lip to stop tears and carried on; not long after a regular runner joined me (I don't think they had a tailrunner as there were only 60-odd runners...but he encouraged me round and I finished in 46 minutes +, to great cheers from all the volunteers who had been waiting in the cold for about 8 minutes since the last but one runner! Oh, & my son finished in 27 minutes with no training or anything but found me & ran the last 1km with me... the joys of youth!
Most of my Parkruns are now near my daughters in Chelmsford as the family have started Parkrunning, last Saturday I was 22 seconds off my pb, but ran my best time this year; this week I have promised my younger daughter I will be pacing her to a pb (of around 45 minutes, down from near 60 minutes) so won't be chasing my own pb for a few weeks due to shifts, grrr!!!
I have chatted to a few people but am a bit shy,but I found a lady from my weight watchers forum was also there; she runs much faster than me but will seek me out as I stagger over the finish line; & I have been stopped by passersby as I trudged back to my car asking how it all worked, so after spreading the word about c25k & Parkrun I was really pleased to see them lined up at the start a few weeks later!
Look forward to your virgin Parkrun post!
Might have to join you Dan. Been staring at my barcode for far too long now. Time to bite the bullet!
