Well that's week seven out of the way now. I did the third run late morning and, this time, reverted to my original non-killer route! I did change my mindset though - convinced myself it was a 30 minute run. That way I would stop at the 25 minutes as usual but still feeling there was something left. It was a pleasant run around the lake in the park next door. When the words came to slow down and walk I kept running for another minute - preparing myself mentally for the start of week 8 on Monday. Now I've got 2 days rest and relaxation (during which time I shall be digging my allotment) and I will start W8 on Monday morning. Have a great weekend everyone, whether you are running or resting and a special 'Good Luck' to those of you taking part in races or park runs over the weekend. Best wishes to one and all.
Goodbye seven I must leave you...............! - Couch to 5K
Goodbye seven I must leave you...............!
Well done, keep up the ultra good work.....2 more weeks and graduation will be yours x
Thank you. It is getting quite tough now so need all the support I can get. Best wishes.
Dig deep, a lot of what stops us is our mental ability to let ourselves break that barrier You will do it, just 2 more weeks to go and you will be flying around free as a bird
I'm in a similar position- I've just done my last run of Week 8, and dear me it's been tough. Week 7 wasn't much easier. But sweet determination will get us over that finish line, and I have no doubt it gets easier from here on in! Good luck, and I'll see you on the other side! (with graduate badge!!)
Yay, will do. Best wishs.
brilliant, well done Fitmo...
Thank you. Maybe one day I'll be panthering as well. Best wishes.
Fitmo, well done on completing week 7. I am a week behind you - just about to start week 7 after my rest day tomorrow so your posts are very useful to me as in I gain an insight on how the week ahead feels physically and the challenge it undoubtedly poses mentally too. Thank you.
You have come so far now, so you cannot stop And I am waiting to hear how the next stage goes and am following your every word on the matter. No pressure mind
Congratulations on completing 7 weeks of the c25k plan. You aren't on the couch these days, are you? And I am sure you are feeling the benefits of running, as I am, so we just have to keep it up.
Beth, same goes for you too. Well done on coming so far in the plan and good luck for week 9 although I am sure you have all the foundations to see you through to graduation.
Best wishes all and happy running xxx
You'll hear about the next stage of my running journey on Monday - I never feel under pressure as I find it counter-productive! Ha.! I just hope my posts continue to be useful and don't at some stage put you off. I tend to err on the side of caution anyway which works well for me. Thank you for your good wishes and all the best with your first run of W7. Best wishes.
well done Fitmo sounds like you are doing really well! happy digging to you! i'm going to be constructing my greenhouse after parkrun if all goes to plan!!?
Ah yes, constructing a greenhouse will be your bending and stretching exercises for the day. I can't have a greenhouse nowadays. We are not allowed to put them up on the allotment where I have my plot and, with the best will in the world, I cannot fit a greenhouse onto the deck of a narrow boat - which is what I live on! Hope your park run went well and enjoy putting up your greenhouse - sow some seeds for me whilst you are at it! Best wishes.
Wow! Well done Fitmo....I feel very envious of the lake you described! So glad you've got to this stage....it's as if we're doing it together! I'm on a rest day today and will head on out early tomorrow morning for the 2nd run of WK 8.... It's supposed to be nice weather so that'll spur me on....hopefully! Enjoy your gardening!
Thank you. The lake is very nice, it's in the 250 acre country park next door to the marina where I live. A very idyllic setting for me and I shall have to post a photo at some point. I've also got the river and the landscaped embankment that runs along it into the town centre. It's a great place to live, lots of good places to run, plenty of watersports (I'm going to have a taster session of windsurfing next month), there are several rowing clubs in the area (professional and also Olympic rowers practise on the river here). At risk of making everyone envious - just down the road from the marina there is an international athletics stadium with a proper running track and I believe you can just pay to use it at certain times. I'm going to give it a try at some point I think. Good luck with the rest of week 8, you are helping to spur me on. Best wishes.
Well done! I told you it was all mental didn't i?!!! Hahaha! Great mind games you played there and it seems to have worked for you. Good luck Monday morning and you'll whoop that week 8's aaaassssss!!
Yes, but I wasn't mental until I started reading your posts! Cheers and best wishes.
