Runs in Richmond?

I'll be in Richmond for a few days at the end of the week and wondered if anyone can suggest a good long run route, about 9km. Is it possible to just run alongside the river? Thanks for any suggestions.

I search online for runs. They get posted up by other runners on various sites. Goodrunningguide, Mapmyrun etc

Thank you! I typed in 'map my run' and richmond and loads came up!! I hadnt ventured beyond tracking my 2 local running routes (park and harbour) on my phone before - I am seriously excited at prospect of a new route in a new place. It's like my huffy puffy rather slow running has opened the world up to me :)

I live very close to Richmond and regularly run along the Thames path from Isleworth to Twickenham (about 4K then I loop around Twickers). Or Richmond Park has a 10K loop which I haven't done yet, but this time of year the park is glorious.

Ooh I see what you mean - looked up on mapmyrun (had a bit of a fail when I realised I was looking at routes in Richmond, Virginia to begin with - took longer than you might think to notice!!) and there is a 10k route along both sides of the river I might be able to manage with a bit of walking. I can't wait! Thanks for reply :)

Great stuff. I thought just a big of Googling would bring up all sorts of possibilities. A new run is a great pick me up

Richmond Park is one not to miss. There is a gorgeous 8km run known as the 'ballet school loop'. Starting at Richmond or Sheen Gate it takes in part of the Tamsin Trail (the 7-mile perimeter run/walk/cycle route around the inside of the park) but turns east at Ham Gate and goes through the middle of the park past the Royal Ballet junior school along a very clear tarmac path. Hope you can see it on this map:

Thank you Turbo, I will definitely check it out. Couldn't see the map on this link but have downloaded a map of the park. I'm there for a few days so should have 2 runs - one along the river and one in the park, fantastic! Thank you :)
