Ok, so I've taken the advice so many of you post on here and have been and had gait analysis done at my local sports shop. After trying out several pairs of new running shoes I opted for some Asics GT2000-2 in a nice bright blue! Now my wallet is £105 lighter, so my run this afternoon (W5R1) had better be a belter!

Went really well, felt like I was running like a gazelle! Well, in my mind anyway, but the shoes did make things seem smoother, and I set all kinds on new records on my Nike+ app!
