W6R2. Had to stop

I tried w6r2 today but I had to stop halfway and did not complete the second run. I was too tired to continue and almost just after I had started it, I stopped. I will repeat it next time. Did anyone have a similar experience?

Hi, yes, I've had that problem (not specifically in wk6). Are you drinking enough water before and after your runs? Eating properly? You may want to consider taking a multivitamin as you are putting your body under extra stress when running. The other question is - are you getting enough sleep? I find that when I run on days where I get less than my 8 hours, my runs tend to suffer in terms of poor performance.

We all can have bad run days, they can happen for new obvious reason, just out of the blue. You have to put it down to experience and put it behind you. If its the first time you have had this happen then perhaps you are lucky, just think 1/20 runs is a good pass mark its 95% success rate. So positive pants on the next run day ;)

I had great difficulty getting up today and went straight out for my run (on empty)

I always make sure I am well hydrated, starting taking on board more water the day before.

Today my legs felt leaden. I normally do a short but very steep section before getting onto a gently undulating road. Today I had to walk most of the hill section and never did achieve a comfortable rhythm. I normally use 1 x 5k+ podcast for the out run and then a second 1 x 5k+ for my run home. I just had to give up on the second podcast and did an awfully dawdley stroll home. I only managed 4.2km constant running. And I did manage a work out at the open air gym too. We just have to put these 'runs' down to being a bad one and look forward to our next run. It's like Laura says, there's no rhyme nor reason for a bad run - just move on!

It's just one of those things.

But hey! you were out there trying and that is way better than being on the couch! Better luck next time! :)

That post implies I do 10km a time. I don't, I just use the pod casts for the beat and do either IRO 5 - 6km for my short runs or 10km for my long run.
