So I've just completed week 3 yesterday and my knees have been twinge-ing. I fear that I will have to give up the challenge before it's already begun. Will the knee supports help? Why will my knees have started playing up?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Sarah

I had slight knee pain when I first started and a knee support and compression socks really helped- I don't wear the support anymore but still use the socks- see how it goes but don't push it and rest if you need to and take it slowly.
Well after reading in depth about knee injuries went to have a gait analysis done. Ashamed to say I bought totally the wrong trainers which has now been corrected. Really interesting lesson learnt about how and why my current ones are unsuitable. Gait analysis worth it's weight in gold.
Oh yes , definitely ! When I first. Started I was having knee problems , went for gait analysis & the problem went. I graduated & not long after suffered with tendon problems in my ankle ! I don't know , just my luck lol .
I share your pain (literally - my knees are not good either!) I got myself some proper trainers too & a knee support bandage. Still a bit niggly so I'm giving myself extra rest days in between runs. Don't be dis-heartened, just take care of yourself & your knee and you will do this!
I had exactly the same problem at week 3, after no problems at all weeks 1 & 2. I enforced a longer (3 day) break before week 4 run 1 which seemed to do the trick. My knees are definitely niggly but I've been using ice and elevation immediately after a run which seems to help too.
