Due to my slightly obsessional love of data and statistics, I realised a few weeks ago that I'd done ninety-something runs so run number one hundred couldn't be far off.... and today was the day!
Beautiful sunny day here, perfect temperature for running (possibly 20 degrees in the late afternoon). Just the "minor" problem that I haven't done much running recently (I had a throat/chest infection and then stayed glued to my comfy couch), added to which I definitely haven't felt 100% fit for the past few days (think I'm fighting off a stomach bug).
But anyway, I got myself out of the door and ran for half an hour. Hard work, but I did it, albeit at a leisurely jog.
Thought you might like to see a picture of the view I get on my run. Not taken today, but hopefully gives you the idea that it's not all about bombs here (whatever the headlines might say).

Thanks! You'll probably get through those last 8 runs quicker than me - this was only my 10th run of 2014.
Has to be said that I was concentrating on the road those 10 paces in front of me for most of the way round today - but when I do look up it is all very uplifting. It's meant to be winter - we could do with some of your rain, but it's probably as well that I haven't had that excuse to add to my list of reasons not to get out of the door!
Sorry to hear you've been so out of sorts. And thank you for the lovely picture of your surroundings. I must say that every time we hear of another bombing in Beirut on TV news I wonder if you are caught up in it.
Sounds like you need to take it gently for a while if you are battling so many bugs.
WELL DONE for getting out the door and running half an hour. 20 degrees sounds awful warm to me. I overheated myself today and it's only been around 6 degrees. (Got caught by a torrential shower and put my Kagool on - which cooked me!)
Be kind to yourself and I hope you feel a lot better soon! Congrats on the 100 runs!
Thanks Beek! Don't worry, I'm certainly taking it gently (and may need to be a bit tougher with myself once I'm over this latest bug) and you'd really have to be in the wrong place at the wrong time to be affected by the bombings (and almost all of them have been in parts of the city I don't go to).
Thanks everyone. I rather like the view myself too - maybe the fact I can see it from my house stops me getting out more... but tomorrow I'll be setting out for my first of the next 100. Aiming to reach 200 by the end of the year.
