Hi all, I graduated last year after completing the programme indoors at the gym. Then I went on holiday, drank the odd beer, lazed about a bit and didn't run. This was followed by a couple of training courses meaning I had a month of not running and this set me back quite a bit. I did have a couple of attempts at restarting but then Christmas came along.
So, basically, I'm restarting right back at the beginning. So far I've done Week 1 and I'll finish Week 2 today and the difference is that this time I'm running outside rather than the treadmill in the gym. It's not been easy and there is a long way to go but I have a real target to aim at. There's a bit of a run (with a few others) down to a beach in the North East that I've entered and I'd like to do it justice.

I can't think how folks would want to do all their running on treadmills. Outside in the wide blue yonder is pure escapism and it's FREE! Moving scenery too. I just love it and wouldn't have it any other way. If nothing else it's made me more hardy and I think nothing of going running in the cold rain, sleet and wind. Good for you Shed79 and happy running up there on the NE shores. Some lovely beaches up there to be explored. Happy running
it great that you have rejoined the plan, well done on your progress so far! I've just been running down by the beach and it was invigorating in a wet and windy way!
Welcome back! I too have returned after graduating last year! I got on very well, carried on running 2 or 3 times a week, did a couple of Race for Lifes - then injured my foot!
Am now on week 7 so a bit ahead of you. Good Luck!
Me too , graduated last year injured foot been out of action 8 wks & seeing physio again tomorrow & then fingers crossed starting from wk 1 . Good luck with your runs
Thanks guys, Just in case my tendency to understate things a little bit sometimes didn't give the full picture the "run down to the beach with a few others" is the Great North Run.
I hope your physio visit goes well Rockette and that by the time you've read this you've run your first run in 8 weeks. More power to your heels girl!!!!!!! Gooooooooooooooooooo
Same here! I graduated a year ago and started again with week one yesterday. I always run outside in the fields behind where I live but am thinking of beach running on some days as a change this year. Am along the south coast so plenty to choose from. Good luck with sticking to it this time!
