So did my second session just now and managed all 8 runs (only did 6 first time). I know I'll do it but still finding it very hard. Question though... Is it normal for your shins to ache? It's not like shin splints, it's just like muscle ache and I find that harder than being out of puff!

Well done for completing the run. I found this blog on runners world that may help - runnersworld.co.uk/forum/he...
The gist of it seems to be that your body is going through an adjustment and as long as it improves as you progress it should be nothing to worry about.
Thank you. That's encouraging. I'm sure it'll improve as I get better, fitter and lose some weight. Just a little disconcerting at first!
I have just completed week one and had the same problem it did get a little easier but still there hoping by the time I finish week two the aching may have gone. Well done for starting and don't let this stop you good luck

I had serious calf pain in W2. I got new running shoes and it has made a world of difference.
