Anyone know how to get podcasts to play at same time as Nike+ app?

Since completing C25K last year I've been using the Nike+ Running app on an iPhone but I now want to do some of the 5k+ training podcasts to improve my running speed/distance. I want be able to listen to the podcast at the same time as tracking my runs but Nike+ only seems to allow music to play in the background, not C25K which opens in the podcast app. Has anyone found a way around this?

  • Not sure if you can do that, cos you would be trying to play 2 Apps at the same time. If you find out that you can will you let me know please? I have only ever used Nike+ with my own music.

  • Just did a quick search as I was hoping to do the same with Map My Run and it can be done, however you need to convert the file using additional software.

  • On iPhone 5 I just start playing the podcast, then open Nike+ and select start run. Both work fine like that. Or are you using the C25K app? In which case I'm not sure that would work but someone else may know.

  • I've been trying to figure this out for ages! What a clever idea :) this works fine on iPhone 6S with map my run!

  • You may have to select 'No Music' on Nike+ to stop the music kicking in. Otherwise Start the podcast then Nike+ as yonda 1960 says. This does work on my new ipod.

  • Just run the nike+ without music then play your music or podcast it will work I run with several apps running and the all work at the same time

  • Sorted it! First I had my Nike+ run set to 'No Music'. Listened to beginning of podcast (5min warmup walk) and then started my run with Nike+ and the podcast stopped (like before) but I could then go back into the podcast app and unpause it. After that the Podcasts app and Nike+ Running app ran fine together for the rest of the run. Bit annoying having to go back into podcast and unpause once you have already started tracking with Nike+ but at least it is a way around without having to convert files. Thanks for the help.
