I need tips!!!

I am currently only running at the gym on the treadmill and would love to be able to run 5k eventually!

Any useful tips that could help me do this?

Thanks!

Download the podcasts and follow them - they really are good

- not just for newbies, but also for people like me who lost the plot with exercise due to depression

You've arrived here at Couch to 5 k HQ, the home of Laura and the magic running podcasts. Download them now and you'll soon be running 5 k.

I have never run on a treadmill, other than when my gait was analysed before buying running shoes. What I have heard and read is that running on a treadmill is very different to running outside. So if you are thinking longer term of running outside, then it may pay to 'mix and match' your sessions a bit.

Otherwise stick to the C25K plan, and you will get there. Good luck.

Yes, I am planning to start running outside too, in order to change it up a bit :)

Thank you!

Running outside is the way to go. Real, moving, ever changing scenery which is great. Much more interesting. Do the 5 k podcasts, with Laura, then do the Steppings Stones trio of podcasts after that, which mix things up. The C25k podcasts do mix things up to some extent anyway. Just do them, following Laura religiously, and you'll be graduating in no time.
