Hanging up my running shoes.......

That's it! I hit my December target a week ago and my legs have finally rebelled, they're saying NO MORE RUNNING!!!! So It's with sadness that I am saying I agree with them, no more running for me this year. My shoes have had their final tumble round the washing machine (putting 'stiff with mud' shoes on is not nice) and have been hung up to dry. :(

December stats:

Running: 186k

Walking: 88k (that's 'organised' walks, mainly with map and compass, doesn't include to work and back or round the shops or that sort of thing, we finally got to Brighton and my new walking boots gave up the ghost!)

Total for the year:

Running: 1520.95k!!!!

Walking: 678.51k

Bike rides: 384K

Now who's going to join me next year to smash this year's record? :D

Starting tomorrow? (head permitting)

That's very impressive Beads. Only started recording runs in July this year but if I took my monthly average as a guide it would still only be 880km for the year. You must be running in your sleep ! Well done and very inspiring :)

Holey Moley, Kiddo, that's going some. Big Respect indeed. I thought I was being ambitious setting a 1000K target for next year but you've already wiped the floor with it!!!! You certainly deserve a rest. Happy New Year; I look forward to trailing pathetically in your wake next year ;)

I should think your shoes needed a rest. Very impressive. Good luck with next year.

My record for 2013 is 2066km of walking and running. I am proud of that.

And rightly so! That's 2066 very good reasons to be proud.
