Re-start

It is now 7 weeks since I hurt my foot and had to stop running. The last run I did was run 2 of week 8, so I guess you can sense my frustration. When I re-start the programme, hopefully mid January, which run would you recommend I start with. Please don't say run 1 week :(

Bad news about your foot. I understand your frustration as I am out with an injured foot as well. Mine is self-inflicted as I've run too far, too fast, before my body has had time to get used to running as I only graduated a few weeks ago. I shan't be in such a big hurry from now on. Pick up where you left off Segrie if you don't feel that you want to go backwards with the programme. Or just go for a gentle run, interspersed with walks, and see how it feels. Best to do a little at first. Good luck with it

I had my first run in 3 weeks today - I have a weird sickness/dizziness thing and an ENT referral for after the holidays - anyway today I felt well enough to try it, and decided just to go with week7run3 and bail out if I found it too much. (I have been walking most days as I find being outside helps my symptoms). Although I finished it, I felt really quite sick by the end and should probaby with hindsight have stopped running after 20 minutes. Will have 2 rest days at least and then perhaps try again on Monday - perhaps using w5r3...

Anyway, I wonder if w5r3 might not be a good restart point.

Must admit that is the one I had in mind, then if that goes OK I'll do one run in week 6,7 and then the full three of week 8. Well that's the plan. Restart scheduled on my birthday 15th, watch this space
