First step taken, now onwards and upwards.

Just posting to celebrate getting on the couch and trying the C25K podcasts. I'd put off for a bit, being, err, fat, overweight and under exercised, and basically finding all the problems and excuses I could before deciding - look get up and move. So I did.

i am proud tp have made it up of the sofa, and made it out in the cold, and managed my first effort. 3.41km in 31:27 was my first effort, no idea if thats good or bad, but it seems I slowed down post 6 interval, so i will try to keep that in focus for next time.

here's hoping everything still works in the morning ;-)

why am I posting? to gloat no! to celebrate - i think so. At the end, when giving a pat on the back, I actually did!

Will try to post after my next run, thanks for reading (if you did) and good luck to everyoneon the journey.

Well done. Sounds like a pretty good distance to me. If I'm reading this right you've covered more distance than me tonight when I actually "ran" for 26mins. I'm quite envious. Best of all, better even the distance, was getting out for the first time & on a cold dark December evening. Well done you.

Thanks for you kind comments, its appreciated. I am surprised I managed to prise self from sofa on a cold night, so I am chuffed about that!. Thanks once again and goodluck for your next challenge!

Well done on making the move to get the running shoes on and out the door. Don't worry about times or distance covered, it doesn't matter. Just worry about finishing without stopping and getting through to the next podcast. The nine weeks will just fly by.

You did it, we did it and are still here! I'm in week 9, it flies by and is a fantastic programme. Well done :)

Well done Steve! It's hard to get out the door when it's cold and uninviting and you did it! I ached for the first week only (just in case you are feeling a bit sore today) find your nearest Parkrun and pencil it in your calendar for 9 weeks time! It's great!!!

Well done for starting. It's a great programme and the folk on the forum are here to prod and encourage if you need it. I'd echo what others say and just leave the measurements for until after you've graduated and you want new targets.

Enjoy!

wowsers thanks for the encouragement, happy to report everything still worked this morning (well about as much as usual!) and I am looking forward to R2W1..... however, looking at the weather, I am questioning why I chose to start in December, but hey ho.

Good luck to anyone out there running now....
