I have really struggled to get out in the dark in the week... I run sats ( parkrun) (and suns (10 miles or so) and swim too... However I want to train for another HM in March and ideally my first marathon before the end of the year ( not this one!!!).
However... Other than my running and swimming I really don't fancy anything... I've never been to a gym, I don't like strengthening stuff, I can't do Davina... Bloke at work suggested skipping today ... ?
To do a marathon will I have to do all that other boring stuff or can I just run and swim alot?
Any suggestion for fun, quick quick activities that aren't boring that will help sustain my fitness levels in the week???
Thanks,
Juicyju

My fitness mate keeps trying to get me into doing burpees. She says they are the best thing for all over strength training. I tried one and found them hard but my goal is to get into them. They are fast and use many muscles. You can also do with with tabata training. It's a four min training system that has good results.
Take your pick from intervals, dancing, dry slope skiing, juggling, women's football, touch rugby, water polo, orienteering, plate spinning, and walks with the family. They are all fun, keep you active and suitable for panthers...
That all sounds lovely... But too 'sporty' ... I'm so so not the type!!! ... Far too naughty...I've escaped that stuff all my life... But just for you, I will look into it , I did do cheerleading once? My friend and I are desperate to do Burlesque but I don't think that's very energetic... I can't be a sporty doody.... So not me...
You are right... I see my running as fun for me rather than me being one of those hard core sporty mumsy mum types ( swinging ponytail a must)...so not me, I'm far too naughty!!! I'm a sporty panther then?
Hard core is pounding out 10k or more through the mud and the rain, not floating around in a cloud of perfume. Panthers are more than just sporty, they are dangerous...
I do a Zumba class mid week. That's a lot of fun and you burn about 700 calories per hour doing it. If you do a class where they use the Zumba stick things that's a muscle strengthening class, I ached for a week after that one. I can honestly say the hour flies by and there's loads of boob and booty shaking for your inner sex kitten / big cat
How about buying one of those mini trampolines? You could run "on the spot" without doing any damage to limbs and muscles! AND inside your house. Couldn't be better.
Love the website... Naughty naughty boy.....I really want one of those bad boys as I love the idea that you can do it whenever you like... Anytime, anyplace... Perfect!!!
You know... My very best friend used to be a pole dancer, and we always said when I work closer to home well do it together... Well I just got that so yesss what a great idea, it's fun and great for leg strength!! Thankyou!!! Xxxx
Tae Bo is quite good DVD workout, "This is Tae Bo" is one of the later ones and takes around 55 minutes to complete and don't need a warehouse to do it in like some.
Spinning but the bikes aren't the cheapest, check GumTree regularly, people are always selling of unwanted/unused fitness equipment, often cheaply.
