Thanks for the words of advice from those who also found changing their route to be counterproductive. With the longer running times I thought running on pavement might make it a bit easier - wrong !
Went back to running the dirt/gravel road round the local camp ground & baseball diamonds. The route is wonderfully quiet at this time of year so no need to worry about looking good. Running round the village with the prospect of meeting someone/passing traffic was definitely not helpful.
Or could it have been the Wagon Wheel I scoffed before setting off fuelled me up?
Snow due in on Friday, my W8R3 day - hopefully the weather will hold off til I've finished the programme.

I can't wait until the snow comes! I LOVE snow! I know you get it much deeper and colder in Canada but it must be a glorious place to be running round!
You are almost there. GOOD LUCK for your next week and Graduation!
