Just done Run 3 week 9......unthinkable a few months ago!

I started this lark in April and then at around week 3 tripped over something in the garden and hurt a muscle which took weeks to feel comfortable enough to run with. Then I've had family illness and bereavement to cope with but I have finally finished Run 3 of Week 9 and am sooooo pleased with myself. I know that I've only done about 4.7k but I couldn't give a monkey! At 54 I was shocked when doing week 1 as I was struggling to run for 1 minute! But with listening to Laura's advice, slowing it all down and not getting upset if I had to repeat a week here and there, I've finally finished! Ta daaaa!

  • That's great , bet your feeling proud . Can't wait to get there . I start wk 6 tomorrow up to now doing well . I'm 55 and same as you I couldn't run , this programme is amazing best thing I've ever took up & there's been a few ( fads as my hubby calls em) but I'm so into this & really enjoying it .

  • Thanks, Rockette! Wierd isn't it how this has sort of gripped us?! It's the best thing that I've done for ages and really hope to keep going. Good luck with the rest of the programme so your husband can eat the word 'fads'!

By the way, I ordered my 'badge' and yes, it now says 'Graduate' by my name on the forum but I rather pathetically thought that we might get badges like a Blue Peter badge that i could pin to my t-shirt! Think I'm going to have to make one!

  • Oh poo! I thought there really was a badge :-[

  • I know! Tragic, isn't it that I'm sort of deflated that there is no badge!!

  • Only done 4.7k? Have you read that back to yourself?! :) Congratulations, hugely deserved. Well done!
