Has being more active changed people's sleep patterns?

Or even general routines?

I am a fairly early riser at the weekends but not this early, I've been awake since 6am for no reason and just thought I'd ask!

I thought all the extra exercise and better diet would help me sleep well. But no! Still a light sleeper and often up at silly-o-clock in the morning.

I have found I need less sleep, but I do get really tired after long runs....

Phew, i thought it was just me, when i have to go to work i don't seem to feel as tired but saturdays i'm so tired all day after running in the morning. Have been going to bed much earlier but tend to wake up in the night for (what feels like) a long time.

I have been sleeping and rising earlier. However I think I have changed this myself because on weekends I run Parkrun on Saturdays at 9am and on Sunday I go for a longer run beginning at about 7am.

I fall asleep anywhere any how but I'm sure since I've started running, run day or not I'm tired earlier and awake slightly earlier! Weird! Or I'm over analysing and it's a combination of things!

Aftabs does running twice over the weekend not kill you? I was thinking of going for one tomorrow or starting doing both days but not sure.

It doesn't kill me as long as one of the runs is an easier one. So today's run was an slower 5km and tomorrow's will be a tough one. In previous weeks I have run a fast 5km on Saturday and then a long slow run on the Sunday. The only week I had a problem was when I ran a 5km in 23 mins and then the following day ran 10 miles. I tried running the 10 miles in 1:30 but tired and ended up running it in 1:35.

I found increasing my exercise quite dramatically (adding ~90 miles cycle commuting per week) for my summer job, left me very tired and in need of extra sleep. In fact I'd sometimes be too tired to eat when I got home in the evening and would force myself to make something simple to eat.

Haven't noticed a major difference in sleeping patterns although seem to fall asleep less on my journey home (don't panic, I take the train). Runs are noticeably harder without a good nights sleep though.

This isn't funny any more, past few nights I've been waking up after weird dreams and then being wide awake, my brain is switched on.. At least it's morning time but yesterday it was 6:00 and today it was 7:30...

I get weird dreams after eating strong cheese....? I tend to wake up early if i'm going to run in the morning, maybe it's the anticipation (fear!).

i tend to be exhausted and need a sleep to revive my flagging energy levels usually in the afternoon this then has an impact on when I then go to bed in the evening usually later. I'm just hoping that as I progress my energy levels will improve over time.
