Keeping going while on holiday in Mallorca

Okay, I am moving on to week 7 on Friday then off to Mallorca on Sunday, for 11 days. I am wondering if anyone has carried on with the programme when they are on holiday - in the heat. I am keen to do it but want to be realistic too. Any ideas, suggestions welcome. Thanks.

If you're off to a scenic spot, the runs will be amazing :-)

I ran this year in Corfu and it was brilliant to run in a hot dry country. I felt really good and was a great start to the day.

Go for it.

I am going to Soller, which is lovely. Lots of walking and a bit of running - what more could I ask for? Think I will have to get up early though as my cool northern blood will struggle with the heat otherwise! Thanks so much to both of you for for the encouragement.

Run down to the port and back....lovely. You can always get the tram back if you want to do a circuit of the harbour. There's plenty of opportunity for hill training too!

I was thinking of a few routes that I know would be lovely but i am going to avoid the hills meantime. Road to port and back is flat... so good idea. Thanks

I'm in Dubai at the moment and it's baking hot! Like others have said, run first thing in morning, flat route, go slow until you work out how hard you can push yourself. Definitely take water with you (in case you get lost / take a longer route by mistake / just need a few gulps of water to help with the heat or to chuck over your face!) and consider soaking your hair before you go out if it's very hot. I have found it quite difficult (I've been running in 30+ degree heat at 6am), but do-able as long as you be realistic and don't worry about breaking any records! Enjoy it - the change of scenery can be very motivating :)

Thanks for the reminder about water, I don't bother here. Know the area pretty well so hopefully won't get lost. Especially as I am on 25minute runs and won't be doing more than Laura tells me !

I am very impressed with running in 30 plus heat...you must really have got the bug. I am appreciating the positive comments from everyone. I am now thinking I will be fine. I also want to keep on at the same rate as some of my c25k pals. Thus community is fantastic.
