I have completed the C25K and now working on running further and faster. After my run on morning I have been getting a burning pain at the top on my I.T band. I haven't run again for this week and wanted to know if anyone got any ideas for what I can do to get back running ?

before going out for a run you could warm the area with a water bottle for 10-15mins then do some specific stretching to loosen the I.T band up??

Runners world will have a good section on the sort of stretches you can do.

If its too problematic then seek GP advice or that of a physio/sports therapist

Thank you very much, I normally run with a high compression shorts which keeps my hamstring warm so hoping it would do the same for my I.T band. I think in all I need to get those muscles stretched more...thanks again and keep on running.
