Did week 6 run 3 today and felt pretty good until the last 5 mins!!
I really struggled to maintain breathing and felt I was going to hyperventilate at a couple of points so I slowed things down ans concentrated on regulating my breathing.
When I run I find it hard to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. I know breathing is instinctive and I should just let my body get on withit bit just wondered if anyone else felt like this?

Hey there, there are a lot of us thinking exactly the same way. There was a similar question a couple of weeks ago, if you are interested here is the link: healthunlocked.com/!/#couch...
I can't breathe through my nose, I wouldn't get enough air. And apparently several people see it the same way. Just relax and don't think too much about breathing because in my experience it was harder when I focussed on it than when I just let it go.
Don't worry about it! Just breathe the way you feel comfortable. The more you worry about it, the worse you will feel. I find it very difficult to breathe through my nose at the best of times so when I run I breathe in and out through my mouth. I haven't collapsed (yet) and am "training" for the Cheltenham half marathon. My feeling is I have managed to breathe for 51 years so I must be doing something right. Relax and go with the flow. Good luck!
This has been a regular question for at least the last 18 months. Everyone (me included) struggles to breathe in the way Laura suggests and almost everyone (me included) eventually says Oh, sod it, as long as I'm breathing at all that's good enough. So just do what works for you, as long as you do keep breathing somehow!!
