I completed w4r3 last saturday but have been in bed with flu since tuesday. Hoping to be able to go back out by sunday/monday should i just carry on to week 5 or repeat week 4 a few times?

If you've been off with 'flu I think you should be very cautious before expecting your body to be landed with too much exercise as well as healing itself. 'Flu really does wipe you out so don't be too eager to jump straight back in. Get yourself strong again first.

Hope you are soon better!

Thanks, I'm going for a walk tonight, just a gentle stroll to get some fresh air and will see how i feel after that. I'm only anxious as I'm training to do the 5k great north run in september, really not long to go

Only you know how unwell you have been and what it has taken out of you. It won't hurt to repeat one run of week 4 to see how it goes, if all OK move onto week 5. You have plenty of time for you run in September still. Good luck.

Just be cautious, or you won't run the Great North run at all. You have a virus in your body. Respect this and rest!!!! Gentle walking is fine, but no running. You will make yourself sick, and you are aiming to recover, right?

You need to gradually build up-but don't start for at least another 10 days actively exercising. The temptation is great to do this, but you'll be making an enormous mistake.

When you do start go back to week 4. If you feel ill, stop. You have plenty of time for that run in September, so take it easy.
