If like me you enjoy running with your favourite four legged friend ,I would like to share this info . Dogs paws are not equipped for coping with hot roads or concrete .Did you know that if the ground is too hot for your bare feet to walk on, it is too hot for your dog’s paw pads? Yes, its true! Dog’s pads do not act like shoes. In fact, dogs paw pads are just as sensitive, maybe even more than our own feet. The nerves on the bottom of their feet can get over heated; the pads can become cracked, burnt, torn. Please be careful this summer and be aware of the hot ground around you ,it can do wicked damage to your dogs pads and quite literally wear them to a frazzle. The photo I have posted is shocking proof of this.
I only take my girl with me when it is cool and whilst this heat wave is still going on she won't be running with me at all.
