This was a bit more of a challenge for me, and for the first time since I have started the C25K plan I wasn't able to finish a run. This morning at w8r3 I only managed to run 15 min then a terrible ache at my ovaries zone made me stop jogging . that never occurred to me before since it has been more than 2 months i started with the plan, is there any body out there experienced something like that? or should I visit my GP ? God I hate being a female sometimes...

Apparently light exercise during your period is good but I don't think running counts as 'light'?! I completely understand why you'd want to run- 5-7 days without seems like a long time. I think the ache was probably a combination of just normal period pain compounded by the exercise of your tummy muscles while you ran. It's all in the same region. I always get a tummy ache after I run so I can sympathise! It's probably nothing unusual but if you're worried you could always go to your GP. Hope it's better next time!

My period just arrived this morning (rather thankful actually as I thought I was pregnant again!)after stopping the pill over a month ago and starting this program 3 weeks ago.

So I haven't run with a period yet but my next run is Sunday so I guess I would find out then.

I usually get rather uncomfortable period pain so it will be interesting to see if the run helps or makes it worse.

All I've had so far is a stich that I've managed to breath out and sore knees that I'm trying to deal with.

I'm no expert but I've not heard of anyone experiencing pain in this aera of their body while running during their period so perhaps it is uncommon and worth getting checked if it continues.

Not a great help to you but see what happens on your next run.

I have run with my periods (first day and then the 3rd etc) but never had any extra pain, I was in fact surprised that I could run with periods as I usually get a tummy ache or a back ache or some times headaches, but non of those while running. And today I am running on my 2nd day of periods too- a Park Run, and a cold! (Cold is not helping really but I want to challenge myself) So if you have an unusual pain, I would suggest you go see your GP, it is better to go see him and get an opinion rather than worrying, don't you think? It may be nothing but just for your peace of mind..good luck to you for your running and hope all will be ok!
