Help, calf pain

I completed W9R3 on saturday morning. Since the runs have become longer I've been getting discomfort in both legs around the calf. It's not enough to stop me running but I can still feel twinges in both legs two days later. I've got the right shoes (had gait analysis) and i've been using compression sleeves since the start of week nine. I'm also stretching them before and after and drinking.

Any other tips/advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I'm no expert on this but I have heard that if you run on softer ground (like grass) then it helps to stop the harsh impact and helps with leg pain.

Maybe you could try putting ice on your calves when you get back from a run and see if that helps too?

I went to Physio and don't get it anymore. Or try sports massage.

Thanks for the replies. I will try the ice and if that doesn't work I will try the Physio.

Cheers.

Have you tried a foam roller? I tend to suffer with calf pain too and also wear compression sleeves which do help. When my calves are sore, a good workout with the roller is really effective.

No, haven't heard of that, I will have a look.

I use tiger balm before and after a run as needed, its a kind of natural deep heat that dooesnt smell!

Tried the ice this morning and it seems to have helped. I'll try all the other tips too, thanks for posting them.

Cheers.
