Beyond slow.

I have just returned from w9 r 2. However, I am slow, beyond slow really. I 'ran' 3.1k in 30 mins this morning. I ran on longish grass around the farmers field which I know is meant to slow you down a bit....but even so.....I feel a bit of a fraud going for my graduation run at the weekend.....

What should I do next?

Ahh, but are you going slower than you would be if you were sitting on the couch? No! No matter how slow you are, you are getting out there and RUNNING! Don't feel like a fraud, go ahead and enjoy your graduation run. Those 9 weeks have got you running for a full 30 minutes! Imagine the progress your running will make in the next 9 weeks

Wow! I think that's magnificent! I ran 10 yards on grass...mown grass at that....and that was enough. It was so much more difficult than a hard surface. I run about the same as you for 30 mins. A couple of weeks ago I ran 4.26km but it took me 45 minutes. Everyone on here says "slow and steady" wins the graduate badge!!!

Hi Gillpower, I agree with the ladies, do not be disheartened you are doing amazing!! What matters is you are out there running for 30 min and that's something :) Plus you will be amazed as long as you keep at it, your times will get better, good luck.

You're around the same speed as I do and I too find it hard to think of myself as a runner, but look at it this way, you still have plenty to work at and give yourself a challenge. I have only just graduated and plan to do stepping stones to up my speed and continue with my local parkrun where my target is simply not to be last :D You've done really well so far, don't feel discouraged just enjoy the fact that you can run for 30 minutes, that's an awesome thought for me.
