Week eight run 1 - take it to the bridge

First run of week eight yesterday and I decided to shake things up by running straight out towards Golden Gate bridge. I knew this would probably mean a long walk back, but I convinced myself it was a good idea because it changed things up a bit, and it would be really easy to see progress and how near I was getting.

I did really enjoy it but I think if I'd realised how windy it was going to be, I might have reconsidered! At one point I was running along but not seeming to actually get anywhere as it was blowing a gale, but as I got nearer the bridge it was a bit protected by some buildings and things got a bit easier. The next obstacle was the number of people stood in the road taking each other's photographs. I'm so dozy, I can't believe it hadn't occurred to me that it would be very busy down there... well I'll know for next time!

I made it to right underneath the bridge there and had just started to run back again when time was up, and it did then take me another half hour to walk back. I thought about running a bit more but my knees were not at all keen, so I stuck with a fast walk. In total it was 3.6k running and a bit more than that walking.

Here's hoping for better weather on the next one.

Wow, what an awesome place to run! I can almost feel that wind blowing though. Awful when you're trying your hardest to move and not really getting anywhere. Well done for getting to 3.6k. Graduation is in sight now. Good luck. Claire. X
