Hi all just completed week 2 and am really chuffed with myself never thought i'd enjoy running let alone in the rain at 6 am. Does anyone know of any free apps you can download to android that tracks how far you have run?

Well done! I bet you feel brilliant :-)

I've always used Endomondo but there is a great big long thread about it in the Questions section.

I tried a couple of the other free ones but went back to Endo - I only use the free version too - gives me all I need

Thanks deekay for the words of encouragement and advice, I will give the app a go on my next run :-)

My friend uses RunKeeper and showed it to me at the weekend. I liked the look of it. Gave you an update every 5 minutes with distance and speed travelled and you could see the breakdown afterwards (and load it to pc). Available for androids on Googleplay

I was using map my ride which I already had for cycling, now I am using runkeeper so I get the info on the move, but I need to load some music onto my phone to go with it as still listening to Laura on the ipod as I have no music!

Runkeeper sends the activities straight to my laptop so I just log in and edit to add any comments to remind me as I compare my runs and progress :-)
