It's a Bank Holiday, so a trip to the seaside had to be done. Just me and hubby, left 16 year old son and dog at home. We decided to go to Seasalter on the North Kent coast. I wanted to run, so we agreed that I'd go off for a run while hubby took photos on the beach (mainly seagulls!). I started off on the beach, but it was a bit too wet, so climbed up the steps and run along the path at the top of the beach. The path was a grassy track, not very wide, there were cows in the fields down on the left and the sea on the right. I ran along admiring the view for 2.5k then turned around and ran back.
So 5k run done, I found hubby (more or less where I'd left him) and we set off to walk into Whitstable. It was a lovely walk along the top of the beach (opposite direction to my run), I set my Garmin off again so that I'd know how far we'd walked. What a great day for a walk, so nice to see the sun.
All sounds good and healthy so far, well after a 3.5k walk we ended up at a Pub, so after all that running and walking I deserved a pint of cider. We also found a great Fish and Chip shop for lunch. So even with the 3.5k walk back to the car I think the calories in far out weigh the calories used up.
