Every time I run my ankles have weights, called my body, its more than enough for my legs to cope with. Not sure that it would be good for long distances to use them, have you checked Google for info?

No experience using them, but the general advice seems to be not to use them as they can cause injuries. They were a fad in the 1980s and I've got some on the house, (I don't remember buying them - maybe one of hubby's presents?) but can't say I liked them. I used them for walking, but even then they are not good; they affected my natural speed walking gait.
They can be used for strengthening exercises and now that I've remembered about them I think I'll look them out to use when doing these exercises.
