5x50 - A plea for tracking your activity....

So malcy has thrown down the gauntlet to reach 20,000 kms by day 50! :) I think we could possibly do this but after being nosy and looking at some other challengers stats I have noticed that some are showing 0 kms tracked, especially for things like 30 mins exercise class or swimming.

Could I issue a plea then that eveyone just checks back over their tracked activity showing in the malcymeter and amend anything that is showing as zero when it should show kms. As a reminder, each 30 mins of alternative exercise can be legitimately tracked as 5kms, 60 mins as10km.....

Me? Competitive?? Nah! I KNOW we are the best and so have nothing to prove but wouldn't it just be fantastic if we could reach the magic 20,000?!!

10 days to go; let's dig deep and finish in style and enjoy celebrating on day 50!! After all, we rock!! 8-)

Not sure I follow. Are we allowed to go on to the 5x50 site and convert 30 minutes of alternative activity as 5k?

Most of mine is either walking and running and "real" km, although I've sometimes converted walking when it was in bits and pieces during the day based on 10min/k. I recorded a swim as a real distance of 0.8k.

Every 30 minutes of alternative activity should be recorded as 5k. So if you swam for 30 minutes, that should be put on as 5k. Only walking, running and cycling should be 'real' kms

Got it thanks!

Yes, I noticed this and messaged....it's an easy mistake to make I think, but we don't want anyone to be missing out on the KM that they're doing, especially after all their hard work!

I was going to message but thought this might be a better way to reach out to all but its good to know I'm not the only one wanting it all recorded! ;)

Good point though Theresa, it is a record of our personal efforts too so we dont want to short-change ourselves!!

Logged all proper k's until yesterday and today I had to put in 0k as didn't want to lose my little man :-)

I'm sooooooo ill :-( got the children's virus, any illness I just get on with (I'm a mum after all) but this has floored me, I've slept all afternoon and missed children's dinner :-0 I woke up and they had all entertained themselves and my husband was home from work making them pasta!! How guilty do I feel xx

Oh no poor you!! :( You must just rest and get better and no need to feel guilty; as you say mums always battle through so for you not to shows how bad it is.

Take care and hope you feel better real soon.

Ok been back and added on 15k to mine. When I originally logged my "something else" activities it seemed a bit much to say it equated to more than 5k. However now we are so close to a target (and getting a tad competitive!) every km counts!

They set the rules so you are just following them! ;) Yep, every km counts, not just for the team but for you too!

Sue -- I ran an hour this morning and ran just under 7K -- I know, not very good, BUT I did run an hour. Should I log in 10K?

Great going Delia, you are doing so well! I'm afraid though that with running, walking and cycling you have to track the actual kms so 7k for you. Sorry, not my rules! :(

You will be doing 10k soon though I'm sure! :)

That's why I'd like a 30 x 30 challenge - where 30 minutes of exercise counts, whatever it is! :)
