Tired legs.

So, I took advantage of the bank holiday and no work yesterday by going for a run (normally run tues, thurs and sat: this week running mon, wed, fri (giving blood fri eve) marshalling at parkrun sat).

Onwards from Saturday's 9k run my legs were still a bit tired so I set off slowly. I've been trying to figure out routes where I can extend my distance without having to go up too many hills on the way home when I'm tired. I decided if I went down the big hill at the beginning of the run then run up the valley then I would only have to go up the hill I went up on Saturday, just a little later in my run. So down that hill I went, up at the other end. Got to the tesco-turn-around-and-go-home point and checked the garmin. About 6k, so it would be about 8k when I got home, after the last couple of runs that seemed a bit tame. So I turned right rather than left and continued up the track.

Got to the next turn about point, should I? Not on your nelly. All the way to the end, then turn about, which route should I take home? Yep, you guessed it, the longest one. Well not quite, I'm sure I could find a longer one.

So on the final leg, getting tired now, almost stumbled and realised this was probably my limit as if I had started to go over then I wouldn't have been able to save myself.

So home, route plotted on map my run.

Garmin said 10.5k, happy about that, but I've been happy before with garmin and disappointed on MMR. Not this time. MMR said a massive 11.06k!!!!!!! Deliriously happy (I trust MMR more as garmin loses the signal at times).

Time: 1 hour, 15minutes plus some probably important seconds.

Today though, at work, my legs were still tired (but didn't seem tired yesterday, even took mutt out for a post dinner walk after doing gardening in the afternoon) and I felt like curling up and going to sleep.

Tomorrow will be a short sharp dash on the treadmill, Friday will be an easy 5k, but look out Sunday!
