Well it's nine months today since quitting, I am still walking daily and I have improved, I can walk a little further than when I first quit and I no longer gasp for breath. I have good days and bad and of course I have put weight on. Breathlessness is still an issue there are days when I'm not breathless at all on the flat, and times when I am breathless on the flat and I don't know why this is. I've got an actual review on Wednesday with the respitory nurse the last one was nearly 2 years ago, and I have lots of questions to ask her. And also I will see where I am with my copd fingers crossed I am a little better than when first had spirometry test.

That's brilliant Jake25, keep up the good work . The reveiw should help with your questions and give the nurse an idea how far you have come in the past nine months.

Be sure to make a list of your questions so you don’t forget any. I usually try to record the appointment so I don’t forget what the doctor said in reply to some of your questions. Good luck with the appointment and let us know how you make out.

Well done with quitting the cigarettes Jake25. Yes and your right you do put weight on. Even though doctors tell you differently. Sorry to hear your still having problems with breathing. Sadly I am the same on hills. I can manage the 1st floor in a building using the stairs. Any more and I am struggling. Eastbourne is nice and all on the flat for a nice break with the money you saved. I stopped smoking 30 years ago but copd has still got me. But I keep pushing on. Hope you have a good day. Brian

Thanks for your reply John.I think I'm gonna have to change my name on here, as I am a female and people are thinking I'm male because of the name Jake....... Jake was my chocolate labrador who sadly passed away last Sept. 😪
