I've been on the search for a decent steroid inhaler with minimal side effects and mainly not to mess with anxiety Etc!
Latest one I've tried is Symbicort! Raised my anxiety along with other horrible symptoms! So I'm guessing its formoteral at fault, as had same issue with Fostair!
Any body who has anxiety successfully managed to get on with a steroid inhaler!
As I've almost given up hope.... 😭😭
Tried QVAR, FOSTAIR, SPIRIVA (anticholinergics dry me out and raise heart rate ridiculously! So no go!) and now SYMBICORT...
ventolin is the only thing I can take but need a decent preventer!
Please help

While I don’t have the answer for you, I can state I use Spiriva and Advair as preventatives , and have Ventolin available for emergency use. I do know, however, that abuse or indiscriminate overuse of Ventolin will backfire big-time. Suggest an extensive visit and discussion with your Respiratory Therapist, Pulmonologist and/or Pharmacist. All Best Wishes, judg69
Hi Ami40,I'm 72 and I've got severe COPD, I've been in ventolin for a long time and usually take four inhalations most of the time when I need it or four times a day. I've been on preventers for a number of years. Because they contain steroids they do have an effect on mood, but it is the tablet form that definitely affects me badly. I cannot afford not to take Duo Resp or Braltus which replaced Spiriva for me at least a couple of years ago.
I wish you all the best for the future and your health.
