Hi everyone just checking to see if anyone can help me having a very severe bout of bad breathing have been on antibiotics for 9days already and steroids for 7 days but today has been an absolute nightmare struggling all day any advice appreciated thanks duff

Hi Duff sorry to hear you’re having such a bad time. Have you got a nebuliser? Or access to one I have always found using mine helps my breathing. What antibiotics are you taking? Maybe you need a different one that can help too. Have you had you sputum tested? Hope something here may help. Don’t hesitate to get hold of your doctor as it sounds like you aren’t getting any better. Hope this helps Barbs x

Good advice already given about contacting your doctor. He or she may wish to do some bloodwork or other testing to tey to hone in on the problem. Keep us posted.

Duff you've been diagnosed with COPD by a Pulmonologist? And given all the tests? I've had COPD now going on 30 years. I'm Stage 4 now. My doctor has allowed me to keep emergency meds and take when I feel an infection coming.on. Prednisone and the anti biotic azithromycin. Also have my o2 concentrator, back up tanks in case of power down. Nebulizer with albuterol. To break thing up when can't caugh I use an ample of saline instead of albuterol. I know what your going through
