You have my sympathy and I know exactly what your going through, ive tried pinapple juice ,( no good) slices of lemon in hot water ( which incidentally does help to bring it up and ease the inflammed feeling) ,green tea with lemon and ginger ( its very refreshing and does help slightly and believe me any help is much appreciated) carbocistine ( didnt help) , I do nebulise mucoclear at 6%,( now this does clear the decks so to speak , this takes anything from 5mins to 30 to start but it does the trick and gives me 12hrs respite ,currently I use this twice a day) sometimes when the " gunk" gets to much i do take a couple of cocodamol to stop the phlegm ( they dehydrate you so drink plenty of water but again this is only for very short respite as this plegm does need to come up )

Wish I could help more if you find anything that helps a heads up would be appreciated

I had the same problem for several years until recently when the lock down and traffic stoped here which is a high pollution area and I also stoped having the occasional cigarette. Now I have virtually zero gunk and my sinuses have also dried up. Pollution is a major cause I think.

Hi: My Doctor put me on a product called ‘Acetylcysteine’ which comes in a 4ml vile. I use 1/2 in my nebulizer and it really does bring that junk up, and for me it also seems to stop the production of the mucus. The only drawback is that it smells like rotten eggs. Rx only. Good luck.
