It's scary been diagnosed with COPD but if you read through the comments on this site you will realise it's not the end of the world.

A lot of people here have decades of living with it.

Small changes in your lifestyle make it a lot easier to handle.

Don't let it get you, I know it's tough, just means your human.

Take care and read this site.

It is a shock and difficult to take in but as time goes by you will realise that you are still the same person as before the diagnosis. It is not a death sentence and although they say that there is no cure there is a lot of treatment to relief the symptoms. This is a great site as so many people report living long happy lives with COPD. Don't let it define you and keep enjoying your life.x

Don’t panic- COPD is liveable with. There are lots of strategies to cope with the symptoms and medical research is ongoing. Eat healthily, avoid cigarettes and other lung irritations and exercise as much as you are able. I’ve had COPD for years now but still leading an active life. Make sure you know hop to recognise exacerbations and make sure you get the right inhalers for you and that rescue packs are available in case of coughs and colds. Bully your doctor if necessary to get the right treatments! There is a load of information on this site and on the internet! Good luck - 👍💕
