I really hate this ....waking up every morning not being able to breathe. I've got to take my 4yr old daughter to school at 08.20 and I can't even walk a few footsteps without wheezing and getting breathless,

Feeling tearful
That makes two of us , do you find your neb works for you xx
You need portable oxygen. It'll help you breathe and will probably improve your outlook. You may also need inhalers and maybe Prednisone temporarily as you may have an exacerbation (a temporary worsening of symptoms). No one can manage this disease on her own. I urge you to see a doctor. A pulmonologist would be best, but even your primary care doctor can help.
I'm on prednisone and montelukast and inhalers but I'm being mucked about by doctors and don't know what is going on cos I've had severe bronchial asthma all my life then in September was diagnosed with stage 1 copd then several weeks ago had another lung function test that now puts me at stage 2 copd which the doctors and nurses have told me but then when I saw the consultant he has decided to diagnose me with asthma and won't listen to the test results or the fact I've had asthma all my life and won't listen to me when I say I know that my symptoms are different to my asthma which is why I got diagnosed with copd, so I don't know what to do now
Have you been tested for Acid Reflux ?Sometimes this can make you feel like this in the mornings xx
No I haven't but I'm like it all day
I have severe copd and was and still do especially in morning experiencing horrid sob symptoms ,I have had a endoscopy and has suspected have bad reflux in my ephosogis not sure if that is how its spelt apparently it can worsen lung conditions .I have just started another med I just hope it helps xx
It seems to me that you need a new pulmonary doctor, one who's willing to listen. Maybe you can see your primary doctor until then. In the mean time I hope that you're not smoking. That would definitely make your condition worse. Exercising & drinking plenty of water helps too. I'll be praying that you start feeling better soon. Terri
Yes I will speak to my doctor to see if I can be referred to a different consultant, and I'm using nicorette patches
Do you have rescue inhaler? I saw someone's post here about keeping it by bed and using it first thing in am started doing it and it's helped me.
Do you use it first thing in morn.? That's what really helped me in am.
Talk to dr.sounds like a flair up, may need to up predisone and add antibiotic
Hope you will try Water Cure. (But talk to your dr. first.) See thread:
