I have mild to moderate copd. Just diagnosed yesterday. Ive had 5 jobs since April due to feeling poor. I have several health problems and am about to become homeless. Ive recently acquired an attorney to help me get disability. Does anyone have advice on the subject of disability?

Hi. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues & how they've affected your jobs. I hope your lawyer is able to get you on disability. Mostly, I'll be praying that you don't end up homeless. Take one day at a time. God bless, Terri
Good luck with this let me know how you come out with this new Obama care it is a mess.
Sorry to hear you are going through so much at one time. Have you applied for assistance in housing, food and medical care? If not you should, see a social worker at the doctor's office or hospital where you go, they should be able to help you out. If you have a church you go to they should also be able to help you out.
Disability takes time, it's not an over night thing, glad you have a lawyer helping you, that should speed things up.
Are you on any inhalers for copd? Are you seeing a pulmonary doctor for the copd? If not you need to, as they are the ones who have more training in lung diseases. They know the tests to do and can order pulmonary rehab which will make your lungs stronger and helps prevent Copd from advancing to quickly.
I will keep you in prayer, keep us informed on how your doing.
Hi, it's jensmom. I'm sorry your going through so much at once, it can make your condition worse with stress. I've been diagnosed with stage 4. It's difficult. Anyway, as far as disability, it took me almost ten yrs after major back surgery. I finally got a lawyer and within the yr I got it. So by all means get a lawyer. I used Jenkins and block, they are the best. I hope it helped a little.
