Need more information? Are you on oxygen?

Hi Lindalou 2302;

Welcome to the group, can let us know what you are worried about? What meds are you taking for it, on oxygen ? Make sure you exercise as much as you can as this will help keep the lungs strong, drink lots of water and wash your hands often. Have you done a Pulmonary Rehab program, your doctor has to order this. If you smoke then you need to stop now.

Lindalou2302, reading your post I see you have oxygen for emergency purposes only and when they release you from the emergency room they didn't tell you how much oxygen to use or how to use the machine, perhaps you can call your GP? Seems like if you're using too much oxygen your body would tell you it's too much, when my godfather was sick with asthma and he had a big oxygen machine, when my breathing was bothering me I would cut it on 20 and use it and it helped, I really don't know what to tell you but to cut it on low and see if it helps perhaps someone on this site can help you I feel so bad for you so let me know how you are and good luck God bless

You need to get a really good pulmonary doctor and a cardiologist and get some heart test done. It sounds to me like you have A fib and that you are going into Tachaycardia. Heart problems go hand and hand with COPD. You need these two doctor to work together to give you the best medical care. As for the oxygen your pulmonary doctor is the one who will tell you how much oxygen to use. I know for me I use 2 liters when I'm just sitting around on the computer or watching tv, I use 3 liters when ever I'm moving around and 3 liters at bedtime. The company who is suppling the oxygen should have a respiratory therapist who can show you how to use the oxygen and set the machine where the doctor wants it. she will also talk to the doctor about what is going on with you. Hope this helps to give you so peace of mind.

Hello Linda, my greetings to you as well as Rocky also, I lost my Pomeranian after having her for 15 years really affected my husband and I greatly, actually I grieve so hard I had end up in the emergency room, my poor baby was battling congestive heart failure and her medication was no longer working that was two years ago and I still miss her as if it was yesterday..... you say you were worried I assume you're worried about your health are you on oxygen, please give me more information and until you do I'm sure we'll be waiting to get back to you peace and blessings until next time

Just been given home oxengen for short outbursts if I feel I need them not sure why tho as my sats are always good when I'm having an attack 94% to 91% with a very rapid heart beat over 150 to higher an the first time it was 0ver 200 mark I stopped breathing ended up in resuscitation will I harm my self if I use more oxygen at that level when I'm having an atttavk my resting level is norm around 96 97

I suffer from a very rapid heart rate as well. They used to refer to it as SVT's. I'm on meds for it now and it helps a lot. I had to wear a heart monitor for 30 days. Maybe you could ask your doctor about this test to see what's going on with your heart. And it is scary.
