I am not sure if I have an anal fissure or something worse. It started with seeing blood on the paper 2 times after wiping, then after that I would sometimes see a small spot or streak of blood on the outside of the stool but not on the paper.
I have an appointment to see a doctor but am worried.
Has anyone had a fissure or something else and saw streaks of blood just on the stool surface?

Thanks for posting with us. I hate to hear you are having to deal with this, but I think you are on the right track and will eventually get the answers you are looing for. Any time there is blood in the stool there needs to be a definitive answer.
We do wish you well in getting those answers. You are doing what needs to be done. The doctor appointment will give you some direction and focus. Please don't worry. I think you are all over this. And please keep us up to date on what's going on and what you find out. That information can be helpful to others on this site as well.
For the doctor appointment ... make some notes on everything you are experiencing so you get it covered. Also, is there any family history of hereditary medical issues going on. This is good info for your doctor as well.
Stay strong and don't worry ...

Thanks Tom. I am taking it one step at a time and have reassured myself that the odds are pretty high that it is not cancer. But of course we always say ‘what if’. I will do the necessary to get answers.
