I am a 40 year old male. Just turned 40 a few weeks ago. Long story short for about 6-8 months maybe longer I have noticed bright red streaks of blood on my stool with little to no pain. Often it is on the toilet paper as well but not always. I don’t really have any other symptoms. No weight loss, diarrhea, stomach pains etc. I am gassy but have always been. I have dealt with painful hemmoroids in the past but like I said no pain this round. No family history of colon issues. Any thoughts?

it could be colitis best get a fit test from your doctor I had similar symptoms my fit test came back at 400 I was so scared but luckily after a colonoscopy it was found to be indeterminate colitis. Please don’t put it off all the best
Thanks for posting with us. 8 months😮😳. More than 8 months 😩🤔. Looks to be pretty consistent as far as symptoms go. Need to get some definitive answers. As anxiety80 says, you’ll probably get a FIT test which will come back positive (you know you have blood). The colonoscopy should be next. Any time there is blood in the stool, there needs to be an answer.
It’s great there’s no family history of colon issues. Any other history of IBS or colitis? Bottom line, keep pursuing the answers. 8+months of a symptom definitely needs an answer 👍
We do wish you the very best best in getting the answers. Please keep us up to speed on you progress as that kind of information can be very useful to others on this site 👍.
