2020 dark blood in stool 3 times followed by 6 mths occasional yellow, pale, mucus and stomach upsets. Seemed to clear but stool colour lighter now.
I'm 77 so I hope the NHS does not see me as a done case!
Three weeks ago strong left lower pain down to leg then light blood in stools and continues. Uncomfortable stomach. Stools loose (Bristol 5/6) but staying mid brown.
History of colon, gastric cancer in family so this could be my turn. Due to see specialist in a few days.
Input welcome.

I don’t have any answers for you as I’m not medically trained but I hope that you are well looked after and find the answers to your questions when you see the specialist in a few days .
Thanks for posting here. When reading your story I hope you will be tested to see if there's a hereditary aspect to cancer within your family. You can get genetic testing that will tell you this. That would be good information as it could lead to some testing that would need to be done on a regular basis to make sure you stay ahead of anything. I have hereditary cancer in my family and I get annual tests just to stay ahead of things.
Any time there is blood in the stool there needs to be an answer. If it can't be determined by physical examination, then you will need to get a colonoscopy. I hope and pray that the NIH doesn't treat you as a “done case” as well. I know some of the government run health care systems can seem to treat people like that. I hope this has not happened in your case.
Please let us know what you find out after your meeting with the specialist. I do wish you the best in getting answers as to what's going on. I think you're well on your way to getting those.
