Just had a bowel movement which was a bit soft and looked as though blood clots were present in it. No straining, no strange foods or dyed foods, not on any medication, no health conditions. Are these really clots? Should I get it checked out asap or wait for another bowel movement to see if it persists first? Bit worried since I'm only 18.
NB only noticed after wiping so don't know if the start of it had clots as well, seemed to be more apparent at the end.
Last bowel movement before this was yesterday which was normal.

That does seem strange and things do sometimes come and go. If you wanna put your mind at ease, you could do a home FIT test which should let you know what's going on. Something like Cologuard. That will check for blood in the stool and do a DNA test for anything else that may be lurking.
Another thing to think about is if there is any hereditary medical issues happening within your family. If there is, that is good information for your doctor to know.
Just a quick note ... You are young, but don't let that deter you from finding answers if that's what you're seeking. From what I've seen you are never too young for things to be occurring. If you have a concern, the diagnosis and any testing should focus on the concern. It should not focus on the fact you are 18 years old and they don't think it could be possible for you to be experiencing this.
