Hi Notigga,

Thanks for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. What screening have you had and what are your symptoms that are leading you to get a colonoscopy? There are definitely young people who need and do get them so you are not out of the norm given your age. And as always, a diagnosis and investigation is based on symptoms. Never on age. You are never too young to have a procedure done.

I'm proud of you in pursuing you health and looking for answers.

Thank you for the reply! It started with constipation first, I had pushed really hard once, and found a little bit of blood in my stool I was scared and told my parents, they gave me constipation medication, said it could be from straining and told me to keep and eye on it. There wasn't anymore blood after that and it seems I had gotten everything out, but I still have a decent amount of mucus, have pebble poop and have red spotting i can't tell if it's blood or just food. I'm going to get an fit test soon to make sure there's no blood in my stool

Great on getting the FIT test. Sometimes blood is not present to the eye. If it does end up positive, then you will need to find out the cause for that. If it can't be determined by a physical exam, then you should get a colonoscopy. Proud of you being all over this and seeking answers.👍

I'm a little scared but I'm definitely ready to find out

To add to GCCA, I presume the FIT is organised by your doctor?, as your doctor will determine the way ahead. The FIT is not a diagnosis but a marker that helps the doctor determine which further investigations maybe required to find possible causes.. Best wishes.
