worried again

i have the worry again that something else is going on in my body.

last year i got a positive fit test and had colonoscopy and was diagnosed with diverculitis.

i have had beelding now for 3years at least with no break in between.

When i last saw my gp for more anyibiotics he said my symptoms do not sound like my diagnosis and people with diverculitis tend to get a break in between bleeding and its not usually every time they go to the toilet

Mine is everytime without fail for the past 3years

And now its changed theres alot more blood and it dose not look the same at all

So im back to worrying again amd not sure if to see my gp as an emergency or to wait for my appointment in 6 weeks time (the quickest i could get)

i have added a picture of how my stool is now its very very different to previous

not sure if this os notmal for diverculitus or not as iv never been like this

Hi Lillyhay 10,

I hate you're having to worry again. You say you're going to see your GP in six weeks. Is this the same GP that said your symptoms do not sound like the diagnosis? When you were diagnosed last year and were given some antibiotics, did you notice a change then? It sounds like the changed happened at that point?

I'm thinking you may want to try a second opinion if that's possible. That may not be a realistic thing to do given six weeks was the quickest appointment you could get. What you are experiencing definitely needs to get a good solid answer.

We hope you find a solution soon. Please keep us up to speed on what you’re finding out. Maybe someone on this site has some input from a similar experience.

Tom

no nothing has ever changed every bm has been bloody just the past fee days the blood has turned darker and alot more

Hopefully it will be the same gp but living in a small town we get whoever is available that day so no set gp

I have had 4 lots of antibiotics now and still no change

Luckily i dont have any other symptoms as i read stomach pain can come with the diagnosis for me its just all this blood

Atleast half of my bm are just mucus blood like the picture the res all have this blood mixed in

So, even with the antibiotics, no change. So, we know that's not it. Need to find that answer somewhere. Blood is something that needs an answer. Is there an on-line virtual doctor visit you can take advantage of since you are in a small town? Some how, it needs to be correctly diagnosed. I really hate you have to deal with this.

i don't think we have any virtual visits, we can book an emergency same day appointment lf its seen as an emergency thats how i have had antibiotics other times without waiting for an appointment

it certainly needs looking at very quickly, do you have any screening services nearby, not sure where you’re from ! but if you have this give the a call, our NHS have been absolutely amazing with my progress, keep on at them and take care.

im in scotland the nhs fast tracked me for a colonoscopy last year but im now wondering maybe something higher up in mg bowel that couldnt be seen by colonoscopy maybe im needing more tests just to rule things out and hopefully find the main cause for this of its not the diverculitis when i had my colonoscopy last year the consultant said it was very mild diverculitis and didnt look to be inflamed at the time wich is another thing playing on my mind as at the time i was having alot of bleeding

the colonoscopy should have seen anything going on ! maybe more tests! Bloods scans and MRI every avenue should be looked at, keep at them and find your screening services they will be happy to help, keep on posting and all the best to you 👌

I have just spoken to my GP he has referred me back to GI and in the mean time gave me antibiotics as a precaution incase it is from the diverculitis but not seeming likely he has requested further investigation and im in to get bloods taken as soon as the household is free from hand foot and mouth

ok just another update or questions as such

I have a lump i have just found in my bellybutton

Could it be a hernia? Could this be the cause of so much blood in my BM
